At the end of September, a diverse set of
stakeholders met in Washington, DC with staff from Senators Clinton,
Carper and Voinovich’s offices to draft a plan to advocate for additional
funds to be appropriated to EPA for diesel emissions reductions in
the FY07 Budget. These
advocates included Caterpillar, Environmental Defense, STAPPA/ALAPCO
and various state and local air agencies, Union of Concerned Scientists,
American Trucking Associations and the American Association of Port
Authorities, to name a few.
